NEC Birmingham

Hi all

Liz and I went to the NEC in Birmingham on Sunday for the Hobbycraft show.  Had a good time looking around and of course buying new products.  Saw some people dressed up for the Comic Con show, some brilliant costumes.  Well lots of faces we know from Create and Craft were there (as was C&C). Mel Heaton was demonstrating the Brother Scan & Cut Machine, Jo Channon was on Joanna Sheens stand demonstrating the new dies from Sue Wilson. Joanna was there to sign copies of her new crime novel.  Barbara from Clarity Stamps was there,as was Dawn from Crafters Companion.  The lovely Kay Rutter was there ( I did a class with her at Dandy Crafts in Treforest).

The first stand I visited was Pinflair as I wanted to look at their Gentle Blends range.  Anthony gave me a lesson in using them and I am hooked.

Liz went looking for beads and came back with a selection for earings but wasn’t very impressed with the ribbon selections as you didn’t get much on a reel or were in meter lengths (not much good if you need it to trim 100 or more cards.)  We did buy more stamps (so many to choose from) goodness knows where I’ll put them.

Craft space is getting smaller as we make things, storage space is at a premium at the moment.  Will let you in on some of our new projects. I now have my plates from Craft Dragon and can Hot foil my wedding stationery words onto my cards.  Have some lovely new Tonic dies in and I am waiting for some new tattered lace dies that I have ordered to come in. Liz is working on some new wire work designs in between looking after the kids and job hunting ( we can not afford to pay her yet AH).

Well better get back to the dreaded mail shot (wish me luck please).  see you all next time.

Well on the way

We have been very busy working behind the scenes here at bling thing wales as we have hit the busy Christmas craft fayre season and have attending some local fayres with 3 upcoming events on the 31st November, 1st and 5th of December….so working hard with products being made left right and center.

We have also been busy making wedding stationary sets for the website and also for a very exciting advertisement with Maes Manor so will be included in their brochure and e-brochure.

The workshop is freezing!! So have invested in a new heater as wearing bundles of clothing is not a good look lol

The website up and poofed yet again so busy trying to rebuild that and hopefully, aslong as certain members of the workforce leaves it alone, it will not happen again.

We are hoping that once the Christmas rush is over we can take a breather and re-organize the office space as it is rather crowded now and we are having trouble finding things….should we send in a picture of our workspace to create and craft??? mmmmmm maybe not.

ah well we are off to have another cuppa and try to warm up again so will talk to you all again soon

Fun ahead

Working Hard or Hardly Working?

We have been quietly working on the store website for the last week or so and I can not decide if  should class it as work or not as I am having great fun playing with the layouts and learning how to do things (and doing a happy dance when things work properly lol)

After a very stressful night of trying to figure out where the website had *poofed* too and why the email accounts were not working and then doing a very bouncy happy dance when I finally fixed it (gone midnight) I am happy to say it is going well and we will unleash it out into the world wide web for all to see.

Work is progressing on the work space front. Should be getting the keys very soon and we can start painting the walls and moving in, will have to remember to post some before, during and after shots of our lil crafters hide away.
